The formula: cost = kWh added × rate ÷ 100, and cost per mile = cost ÷ miles

At the cap rate, most EVs cost roughly 7p to 9p per mile. On a cheap overnight tariff that falls to about 2p to 3p per mile, well below the cost of petrol.
